Marvel's Avengers Villain Seemingly Leaked In Achievement List

Marvel’s Avengers may have been pushed back to September, but we potentially just learned a whole lot of new details about it – including a major villain – thanks to what is seemingly its full Xbox One achievement list.

The list was posted on Exophase, but has not been confirmed as authentic by Square Enix as of yet. It’s worth nothing that Exophase does typically post accurate achievement lists ahead of game launches, though this is noticeably much earlier than usual.

Spoiler warning! From here on out we are going to dig into the details of what’s on this list, including some big surprises and unrevealed info. You’ve been warned!

Still here? Okay, Spoiler time:

The most notable reveal is here is that Marvel villain MODOK will indeed be in the fray – something we previously assumed based on AIM’s involvement. The last achievement on the list is called “New Girl Makes Good” with the conditions “Defeat MODOK and the Kree.”

“New Girl” almost certainly refers to protagonist Kamala Khan, AKA Ms. Marvel, and it’s interesting to see MODOK may be working with the Kree as well – though, again, not entirely surprising given the Terrigen connection shown in its earlier reveals.

There are also references to rescuing Inhumans, which we assume extends beyond just Ms. Marvel, as well as going to an AIM space station. Also, and this really shouldn’t come as a shock, but one achievement is earned for rescuing Captain America, who is shown supposedly dying in the opening moments of the game. But, honestly, of course he didn't.

And, if I may indulge in some wild speculation, there could also be a possible X-Men connection here too. One achievement says “discover the location of the Chimera,” while another says “recover the Phoenix Protocols.” It could be entirely unrelated, but the fact that both Chimera and Phoenix are names of X-Men characters stands out.

We’ve reached out to Square Enix for comment, but otherwise we'll have to wait until September 4 to find out for sure. In the meantime, the details of Marvel’s Avengers’ special editions were recently revealed, including a foot tall Captain America statue and early access to the game.
