Control Dev Remedy Has New Game in the Works Alongside Multiplayer Project

It seems that Remedy Entertainment has a few more tricks up its sleeve, including a new, as-of-yet unannounced game. According to the company's most recent financial report, the Control developers are working on several projects at varying stages of completion. One of which is nearing release: an expansion for Control, titled The Foundation, is set to launch on March 26, with another expansion later in the year (which may tie into Remedy's Alan Wake series). The second is the single-player portion of CrossfireX, the sequel to the 2007 mutliplayer shooter from Smilegate, who is developing the multiplayer aspect of the game. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/11/15/crossfirex-brings-a-beloved-worldwide-franchise-to-a-new-audience-ign-live-x019"] Remedy's other two projects are shrouded in a bit more secrecy and still technically in the pre-pre-production phase. One has yet to be announced in any formal capacity, but is "proceeding well" and has a 20-person team working on it. The other project, which launched in 2018 and is known only as Vanguard, has a smaller team (about 15 people) and according to Remedy operates "with a startup mentality within the stability of a large company." What, exactly, those features are remain unknown, but the game is currently running on a playable internal build, according to Remedy, and they remain focused on creating "longer-lasting games in engaging worlds." We're super on board with the idea (we called Control our Game of the Year, after all), but let us know what you think in the comments! [poilib element="accentDivider"] JR is a Senior Editor at IGN, and is really excited at the prospect of an Oldest House Battle Royale. You can tell him that's probably a bad idea on Twitter.
