Arguably the best time to play an annually released sports game is at the end of a console generation. Because at that point, if things have gone well (and they have for MLB The Show), the development team has the game looking and playing well already and can focus on sanding the edges. That is my first impression of MLB The Show 20. Gameplay designer Ramone Russell made the first of his annual trips to IGN to show off the latest version of the long-running PlayStation baseball sim, which will soon be coming to Xbox and Nintendo Switch as well. In the video above, Russell walks me through 20 minutes of Road to the Show gameplay and the changes made to this year's edition of the popular game mode. We'll have more preview coverage prior to launch, so keep checking back!
