[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/06/final-fantasy-xiv-patch-52-echoes-of-a-fallen-star-trailer"] There will be new Main Scenario Quests, a new Chronicles of a New Era Quest called “The Sorrow of Werlyt" and new Beast Tribe Quests meant for Disciples of the Land classes. The next Eden raid will be featured in this update with new battles across normal and savage difficulties. Titled "Eden's Verse" the raid will introduce Gaia, who was created by Final Fantasy character designer and Kingdom Hearts director, Tetsuya Nomura. A "Resistance Weapon" quest series will be introduced to feature new, powerful equipment. The new dungeon "Anamnesis Anyder" will also be added to the game along with the new trial "Cinder Drift." The press release also said the patch will bring unspecified tweaks to, "Jobs, PvP Actions and New Game+ alongside several Crafter and Gatherer updates." Gatherer content will be featured in the Diadem as well as new high-level crafting challenges and a new ranking system. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/06/11/final-fantasy-14-online-shadowbringers-trailer-e3-2019"] Final Fantasy XIV has had a notable turnaround. The game launched in 2010 for PC with IGN's review calling out the game's "interface and performance issues" and "too little interesting structured content to chew on." Jump to nine years later and A Realm Reborn's third expansion, Shadowbringers, is tied with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Disco Elysium as the second highest-rated new game of 2019 on Metacritic. IGN's review says that Shadowbringers "has only further solidified XIV's status as one of the greatest Final Fantasy games ever made." Final Fantasy XIV is also being developed into a live-action TV series from the production company behind The Witcher and the director of the game wants to bring FFXIV to PlayStation 5.
