The Witcher 3 on Switch is being updated with the ability to cross-save with PC, via Steam or GOG. This comes as part of the latest patch which also adds new graphics options to the game’s settings menu.
News of PC cross-save for The ‘Switcher’ originally surfaced on Reddit, but CD Projekt RED confirmed to IGN that the functionality is being included in the next patch, due to roll out imminently. The patch includes “touch control support, save file integration with GOG/Steam, more text languages in selected regions and more graphical options. On top of that there are performance optimizations and bugfixes.”

The PC cross-save function will allow players to download PC saves to the Switch version, allowing them to continue playing when they’re on the move/prefer to use the Switch. This is done through either a GOG or Steam log-in. Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Switch also features this functionality, and the feature was well received.
As for the graphics options, the Reddit leak suggests these will allow players to toggle on or off features such as motion blur, bloom, depth of field, and light shafts. While The Witcher 3 on Switch is never going to look as good as its PC or PS4/Xbox One cousins, these options will certainly help players choose their own graphics balance. Reducing blur should certainly help make the image sharper, hopefully eliminating the almost ‘vaseline’ like haze that the Switch version has by default.

We loved The Witcher 3 on Switch in our review, noting that even with the concessions to get it on Nintendo’s lower-powered console, it’s still one of the best games of the generation. If you’re planning on jumping in for the first time, or are revisiting the Northern Kingdoms for another journey, take a look at the Witcher 3 side quests you really shouldn’t miss.
