Kirby and the Forgotten Land Is Up for Preorder

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is set to release exclusively for Nintendo Switch in spring 2022. In a perhaps unlikely turn of events, this is a 3D game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting? Even if that's not what you were expecting, I think it looks pretty awesome. It's now available to preorder (see it at Amazon).

Read on to see where you can lock in a preorder and how much it costs. If any preorder bonuses are added at a later date, that's where you'll find that information as well. Without further ado...

Preorder Kirby and the Forgotten Land

So far, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is only available to preorder at Amazon. As it goes live at other retailers, we'll add 'em to the list.

What Is Kirby and the Forgotten Land?

We don't have a lot to go on at the time of this writing, but based on the initial trailer shows a world very much like our own, but the buildings and public spaces are overgrown with plant life. Animals roam freely, but no humans appear to be anywhere around. Cut to waves lapping on a beach, and Kirby wakes up on the sand as though just washed ashore.

Kirby then wanders into the overgrown urban landscape, and we see parts of the road are destroyed, as are the walls of some buildings, leaving rubble and rebar strewn about. Despite the apparent destruction, animals and standard Kirby enemies appear. The music is still the typical upbeat, joyful type from previous non-apocalyptic Kirby games.

And perhaps strangest of all, the whole colorful world is 3D. This is the first time we've gotten a full 3D Kirby platformer. It's like Mario going 3D in the '90s or Dylan going electric in the '60s. It's a big deal for longtime Kirby fans.
