Pokemon Smile, a Toothbrushing App, Announced

Pokemon Smile is a new mobile app that uses AR to make tootbrushing more fun for children. It's free, and out now on Apple and Android. Pokemon Smile features over 100 cartoon-y Pokemon that have been trapped by cavity-causing bacteria, and can only be rescued with skilful brishing. Using a phone's front-facing camera, kids (and, let's face it, a lot of adults) will have to clean all their teeth thoroughly to rescue 'em all. Regularly brushing will unlock virtual Pokemon hats that will appear on the user's head while playing the game - and you can take pictures of the hats, and decorate them after the fact. It's not the first quality of life app associated with Pokemon - Pokemon Sleep was announced last year, with the aim of tracking sleep patterns turning sleeping into entertainment in and of itself. We'll learn even more next week, when Pokemon Presents returns on June 24, a show which will contain news of another major Pokemon project.
