Kingdom Hearts Switch Cloud Versions Coming in February

Square Enix has announced that the Switch versions of the Kingdom Hearts games will be released this February. The cloud-based games can be purchased individually, or as part of a bundle priced at $89.99.

The trio of Kingdom Hearts games will be available from February 10. The first is a dual pack of the first two games, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, priced at $39.99. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue comes in at $49.99, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind DLC is also $49.99. The entire collection can be bought as part of the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece, priced $89.99.

Pre-orders are currently subject to a 20% discount, so you can currently grab the full series for $71.99 from the Nintendo store. If you’re unsure about dropping cash on them right now, then free playable demos of all three games are available now.

All three releases, including the remasters of the PS2 originals, are cloud games and thus only playable via streaming. The demo versions are also cloud-based, and so are a good opportunity to test if your internet setup is strong enough to play on.

Square Enix has previously explained why the Switch version will be limited to the cloud, noting that it is a storage capacity issue. With this release, it means that Kingdom Hearts is now available on all major gaming platforms, following the series’ arrival on PC last year.
