Five of Elden Ring's playable classes - Warrior, Enchanted Knight, Prophet, Champion, and Bloody Wolf - have been revealed ahead of its closed network test from November 12-14.
The official Elden Ring Twitter account shared these class names and some images of what your character would look like should you choose them when the game is released on February 25, 2022. There is no mention as to if these are the only classes that will be available at launch, and no further details are given for any of the classes.
By looking at the list, Warrior is the only returning class from a previous FromSoftware game, and the others appear to be new classes or variations on older ones. For comparison, Dark Souls had 10 classes, Dark Souls 2 had eight, Dark Souls 3 had 10, and Bloodborne had nine starting classes/origins. Sekiro had no classes as there was no character creator.
Elden Ring's upcoming network test is for console players only and its announcement came alongside the news that the game would be delayed a bit over a month from its original January 21 release date. Unfortunately for those just finding out about this, the closed network test signups ended on November 1.
Fans of Elden Ring were treated to 15 minutes of gameplay from the latest FromSoftware game, and it showed off our best look yet at the game's world, Elden Ring's bonfire alternative the Site of Grace, the map, Stormveil Castle, the Limgrave region, and a boss fight with Godrick the Golden.
Elden Ring's Collector's Edition was also revealed, and it contains a steelbook case, a 40-page artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a 23cm tall statue of Malenia, Blade of Miquella (the red-haired, helmeted character who was seen in the very first reveal of Elden Ring). There will also be a Premium version that includes a 1:1 scale replica of Malenia's winged helmet.
