Hidden away by Zipper T. Bunny, over 20 Bunny Day DIY recipes are available for players to find with each requiring at least one of the six egg types to craft it. The Bunny Day event ends on April 12, when Zipper will return to check on your progress and potentially, offer you a special reward if you have crafted all the recipes. Make sure to read our Bunny Day recipes guide for more details on this seasonal event.Cherry Blossom Event
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/04/03/how-to-get-more-diy-recipes-in-animal-crossing-new-horizons"] Starting on April 1, cherry blossom trees took over everyone’s islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and to everyone’s surprise, it’s not all for show! The cherry blossom petals floating around as a result of the new blooms can be caught with a net and can be used for crafting beautiful cherry blossom recipes! If you’ve had a hard time finding these elusive recipes, you aren’t alone. Check out our guide on how to find cherry blossom recipes for some tips that help expedite the process before the cherry blossom event ends on April 11.Spring Fishing Tourney
The end of the Cherry Blossom event marks the start of fishing tournaments for some players in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. On the morning of April 11, players that have made some headway on their islands will find a character named C.J. near Resident Services kicking off the Spring Fishing Tourney. Simply talk to C.J. and he will prompt you to catch as many fish as you can within 3 minutes, awarding you points for each fish caught as well as two additional points for catching a minimum of 3. The event takes place between 9 am to 6 pm every second and third Saturday of some months (We're still figuring that out, just like you!). Check out our guide on C.J. and fishing tournaments for more specifics!New Bugs and Fish in April
New bugs and fish arrived last week in Animal Crossing: New Horizons with some of the most notable arrivals being the Snapping Turtle, Atlas Moth, and Giant Water Bug. But there are many more fish and bugs to be caught and added to your Critterpedia (and some that are no longer available). Make sure to check out our wiki for those complete lists!Animal Crossing: New Horizon Updates
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has had three major updates since the start of April. The latest patch, update 1.1.4, has reduced the number of eggs available on your island, which if social media is any indication, will make a lot of players happy! If you’ve experienced any bugs related to plots of land and inviting or kicking villagers off of your island then we suggest reading the 1.1.2 patch notes since they may have been addressed. Additionally, patch 1.1.3 fixed an issue related to the disappearance of balloon gifts after earning a Nook Miles reward for shooting down 300.Unlocking Island Evaluations and Raising Your Island Rating
Every week, we encourage players to chip away at unlocking island evaluations to work towards the late-game goal of getting an island rating of 5 stars. Unlocking the island evaluation itself is fairly simple, but time-consuming so the earlier you start on it, the better. The to-do list for unlocking island evaluations includes:- Paying off the Deserted Island Getaway Package of 5000 Nook Miles
- Building Nook’s Cranny
- Building a Bridge
- Building Houses for 3 Villagers
- Upgrading resident services
- Building a campground
