Call of Duty's 'Outback' Pack Purchases Being Donated to Australian Wildfire Relief

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has announced that it will be donating 100% of Activision’s net proceeds from purchases of the game’s “Outback” pack towards Australian wildfire relief efforts.

The pack, which has been renamed “The Outback Relief Pack,” includes the “Bushranger” operator skin, a legendary blueprint for Sniper Rifle Charlie weapon, a koaloa-shaped charm, a new finishing move, and a couple of other cosmetic add-ons like a sticker and calling card. Buyers also get a free battle pass tier skip.

All purchases from now through January 31 will be donated towards the relief efforts for the Australian wildfires. Any purchase already made before today will also be donated, Infinity Ward said.

“From everyone at Infinity Ward, Call of Duty, and Activision, thank you for your consideration,” the companies said. “Our hearts go out to all of those who have been affected.”

The Australian wildfires have, since yesterday, engulfed an estimated 1.5 million acres of land, leading to the mass destruction of animal life, personal property, and at least 25 confirmed deaths as of January 6, according to NPR. An estimated 1 billion animals have died as a result of the same fires, according to a report from the New York Times.

Earlier this week, multiple posts across social media and forums showed the Call of Duty fan community calling on Infinity Ward and Activision to donate their earnings from the Outback pack towards wildfire relief efforts. It appears the companies have listened to the community’s requests.
