In two videos shown off during the BlizzCon 2018 keynote address, a new Hero for Heroes of the Storm was announced - Orphea eir of Raven Court and daughter of the Raven Lord.
In the first video, she faces off against the Raven Lord. She is the first playable brand new Heroes of the Storm character, not based off of any other Blizzard property. As such, a new golden HotS logo was shown, not displaying any references to other franchises around it, possibly suggesting a new direction for the franchise.
Orphea used a lot of dark powers, and appears to have a casket of some sort on her back. She was born in the Nexus, and “can hold her own against some of Blizzard’s most iconic characters.” Orphea is free for all Blizzcon attendees and virtual ticket holders. Additionally, a number of high-school themed skins including the “Squeaky King” Skeleton King skin and cheerleader Kerrigan skins will be made available.
