Persona continues to be one of the most beloved and revolutionary JRPG franchises because of its anime-inspired aesthetic and life-sim/dungeon-crawler/visual novel gameplay mix. More importantly, however, The Persona series is host to an extensive history of stellar songs. While Persona 5's Tokyo was inundated in jazz and funk, older Persona entries were sonically influenced by J-pop and rap. According to AniPlaylist, a Twitter account that covers the distribution of anime-music on Spotify, some popular Persona soundtracks will be made available for streaming.

Starting tomorrow at midnight, the original soundtracks for Persona 5, Persona 4, Persona 3, and Persona 2 will be uploaded to Spotify. Some game soundtracks outside of the mainline Persona titles as well as live performances of popular songs will be available too. I've got nothing against SoundCloud, but I'm so happy that I'll be able to listen to high quality versions of my favorite Persona songs. I can't wait to relive some of my favorite battles to the tune of Persona 5's "Last Surprise" or "The Whims of Fate." Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if the new songs from Persona 5 Royal will be included, but I'm hoping I'll be able to listen to "Our Light" on Spotify someday soon.
In other Persona news, Persona 5 Strikers is finally coming to the west this February. The game combines the turn-based combat from the mainline Persona series with the hack-and-slash mechanics that have shaped the Dynasty Warriors series for years.
