Crash Bandicoot Merch Leaks, Potentially Teases Characters and Redesign

A new set of PlayStation licensed Crash Bandicoot merchandise has been found online, teasing redesigned characters and even a redesign of Crash himself. Twitter user iWanderr brought the merchandise to our attention on Twitter, posting pictures from the website of Blackfire, a European merchandise distributor. After being able to view them earlier today, the listings for the new merchandise have since been taken down. What's interesting about this merchandise is that it looks like Crash has received a redesign since his iconic look in the N. Sane Trilogy, more akin to the Crash Bandicoot Mobile game that launched earlier this year. What's more is that one of the pins shown in @iWanderr's tweet features a new character design, referred to as "Tawna." Untitled-1 Tawna Bandicoot first appeared in 1996's Crash Bandicoot as the eponymous hero's girlfriend and has made cameo appearances in a number of subsequent games. Given that these two characters share the same name, it looks like she has been redesigned for whatever the future holds for Activision's Crash Bandicoot series. This new Tawna sports a blue and yellow mohawk among other aesthetic tweaks. Given that one of the pieces of merchandise found is Crash holding a smartphone, this could all be in relation to the mobile game, and Tawna may feature in it in the near future - but really, the door is open. These designs could potentially refer to a new project we're yet to learn about. In other PlayStation news, Sony's rescheduled PS5 reveal conference will take place later today, and you can check out our guide for how to watch it.
