Everything You Can Do This Week in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

After a week filled with cherry blossoms, fishing, and way too many eggs, the pace in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has slowed down considerably. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything for players to do! Daisy Mae, Saharah, Wisp, Celeste, and other visiting characters will continue to show up and players can keep chipping away at paying off their debts to Tom Nook and raising their island ratings. Our weekly ACNH update will focus on some ways to tackle some of that stuff, with some pointers on flower breeding and playing the Stalk Market, along with getting you all caught up on an upcoming event called Earth Day. What is Earth Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Earth day is an upcoming event coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Leif the Sloth appears to be the special character leading the special event. Earth Day falls on April 22, which is next Monday. Since this event is coming in an update (as most holiday events in ACNH do), it is unclear what will happen on Earth Day in the game. If it is anything like previous Earth Day events in previous games, it will have players do activities and rewards themed around environmentalism. In City Folk and New Leaf, Earth Day was called Nature Day, and players could talk to the host of the event (Tortimer in City Folk and Isabelle in New Leaf) and get an item called a Cool Globe. How Do You Breed Flowers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

One way of increasing your island’s rank is by planting flowers and you can actually get real fancy with it by introducing some rare color variations. This can be achieved through flower breeding. To breed flowers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you need at least two stems of one type of flower. Find a plot of land where you can plant the flowers in a checkerboard pattern, with spaces of grass in between each, leaving room for the new crossbreed flowers to bloom. You must water the flowers once they are planted, and they will begin to sparkle indicating they were watered properly. There are different color combinations that result in new flowers and you can find all of those combinations in our Animal Crossing: New Horizons flower breeding guide. It's worth noting not all flower combinations will yield a new flower color!

How Do You Get Turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

A good way to earn a lot of bells fast is through the Sow Joans Stalk Market. Every Sunday, Daisy Mae appears, selling her turnips in groups of 10. If the prices for her turnips are good (under 100 bells), players can buy them in bulk and wait for the perfect opportunity to sell them at Nook’s Cranny for a profit. The idea is to buy low and sell high before the week is out and the turnips spoil. If you're into Animal Crossing cheats of the time-traveling variety, keep in mind that you can always time travel to Sunday to get some turnips if you missed Daisy Mae. How Do You Get Star Fragments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Meteor showers are how players can obtain star fragments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. To get the star fragments, make sure you’re not holding anything, push up on the right analog stick to look up at the sky, and while the meteor shower is happening, press A each time a star shoots by. Star fragments can be used to craft wands and astrological-themed DIY recipes. Meteor showers occur only on clear nights and once you upgrade resident services, Tom Nook, Isabelle, and the occasional villager will let you know when one is going to happen. Blathers’ sister Celeste will sometimes make an appearance on a night when a meteor shower is expected to happen.
