Coming out of the shadows once again is Gotham Knights, a co-op action RPG that puts players in the shoes of various members of Batman's former sidekicks. In a new story-focused trailer revealed at DC Fandome, the stage is set for WB Games Montreal's latest game.
Both Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon have failed as the protectors of Gotham, according to the Penguin, who narrates part of the trailer. He says those two beacons of hope "never had a handle on the city" and that Nightwing and the rest of the inheritors of Batman's legacy, Batgirl, Robin, and the Red Hood, "don't stand a chance." He's referring to the chances of going up against a shadowy organization known as the Court of Owls, the seemingly impossible grip they have over Gotham. No one talks about the Court, yet they pull the strings of everything in Gotham and are always listening.

They range from nimble deadly assassins to large, brutish bruisers, each looking to pose a unique problem when players have to go toe-to-toe with the organization. You'll also get a sense of the gothic visuals of the Court and its members, bringing a creepy, cult-like tone to the game.
Gotham Knights still does not have a release date, but the showing at DC Fandome did re-affirm it will be out in 2022.
