Forza Horizon 5 is the biggest, most content-heavy racing game in the franchise. With that level of ambition undoubtedly comes a thorough development process with plenty of technical and scoping dilemmas. And yet, Playground Games is once again finishing strong. Yesterday, the studio announced that Forza Horizon 5 has officially gone gold. The game releases next month, but it's already taken the lead.
A post on the Forza Motorsport website made the celebratory announcement and revealed Playground Games' extensive collaboration with Latin American music artists as well as a list of original songs that can be heard in-game on the various radio stations:
"Forza fans, we've reached an important milestone on the road to Forza Horizon 5 – we've gone gold! That means the game is now off for pressing of retail discs and final setup for digital release. This is a moment that represents the incredible accomplishments of everyone who worked on the game and we're celebrating by sharing the music you will enjoy while you drive through Forza Horizon 5's Mexico."Local Spanish language artists whose works will be premiered include Centavrvs, Clubz and Diamante Eléctrico, Bomba Estéreo and the Mexican Institute of Sound, Angelica Garcia, El Shirota, Technicolor Fabrics, Miguel Pacheco, Rodolfo Ritter and the Mexico Festival Orchestra. A bevy of other songs from around the world fills out the rest of the musical lineup so you can coast around the open world while relaxing to catchy tunes.
I played about 90 minutes of a Forza Horizon 5 preview build and was impressed by Mexico's scale, the incredible level of detail on display in every frame, and the car feel:
"Even with the small amount of content I experienced, Forza Horizon 5 is massive. Much of the map was empty in this preview version, but I still braved the far-off jungles and mountain ranges, imagining the number of PR Stunts, Horizon Stories, and races that I'll partake in on launch day."
Forza Horizon 5 launches for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on November 9.
Will you be speeding down the Mexican freeways on launch day? What vehicles are you hoping to see/purchase? Let us know down below!
