We're back with another exciting episode of The Game Informer Show! Join us on another busy week in the industry where we break down our review thoughts on Back 4 Blood, discuss the news that Pokémon Legends: Arceus isn't exactly open world, and preview Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl! We also chat about our time in the Halo Infinite test flight and Battlefield 2042 Open Beta with special guest Kahlief Adams from Spawn On Me and Riot Games! As always, we round out the show with another fun round of community emails in one of the sillier episodes we've had in a while.

Topic Of The Show:

Back 4 Blood Review Discussion

Today's big talker is Back 4 Blood, developer Turtle Rock Studios' return to a genre it pioneered back when the company was still part of Valve. Join the crew as they talk about the highs and lows of their experience thus far, with a focus on the solid gunplay, engaging card system, and whether or not we're disappointed with a lack of a campaign versus mode.

The Playlist:

Game Informer Staff discuss the games they're playing.

As always, The Playlist is a lot of fun, but this week is extra special. Carson kicks off the conversation with his hands-off preview impressions of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and why he thinks fans of the series have a lot to look forward to when the games launch on November 19. Next up, Kahlief and the crew discuss their time with the buggy yet fun Battlefield 2042 Open Beta and what they think DICE needs to do before release. Finally, we wrap up the section with our thoughts on the Halo Infinite test flight and why we have a ton of hope for the return of Master Chief.

Check out our Pokémon preview here.

Listener Questions:

The Game Informer crew answers your burning questions.

This week's awesome crop of listener questions asks us about horror games, what we collect, and what our favorite game series are (with a fun twist at the end)!

Read their questions below, or submit your own via the Official Game Informer Community Discord or by emailing us at Podcast@GameInformer.com:

What horror game would benefit from removing the horror, and what non-horror game would benefit from adding horror? - Matt From Near Philly (Email)

Hey GI crew, I recently was able to obtain some SNES copies I've wanted for over half my life, FF3, Castlevania IV, Mega Man X, Mario RPG, and Super Metroid. The level of excitement was over the charts getting them the same day. I also was able to preorder a Metroid Dread Special Edition which I could not believe happened. My question is, are any of you big on collecting, whether it's games, comics, statues, etc.? If so, what part of your collections is your favorite, and what is your current holy grail? - One Mean Leafeon Machine (Discord)

I want to start off by saying congrats to Alex and Alex for taking over the show. I'm absolutely loving the changes so far! Thanks for everyone at GI for keeping up the good work throughout COVID, it's been hard for everyone. Now on to the fun! I have a question....What are your three favorite games/series? (Listen/watch the show for the rest of the question) - Derek Meyer (Email)
