Xbox Games With Gold January 2021 Free Games Revealed

2020 is finally coming to a close and the start of a new year is just around the corner. Like every month, the beginning of 2021 will kick off with free games for those with an Xbox Live membership. The Xbox Games With Gold January 2020 free games lineup has been revealed and offers one of my personal favorite zombie co-op experiences to date.

Personally, I can't recommend Dead Rising enough, especially after the incredible Back 4 Blood beta this past week that offered zombie-blastin' fun. Dead Rising on this list is the remastered version of the original game, tasking players with the main goal of surviving against a horde of hungry zombies. Finding the reason behind the outbreak is a fun objective, but this is genuinely just a wonderful co-op experience (though you can absolutely play solo as well).

Little Nightmares is the second more recent title to be offered, playing as the character Six that needs to survive the threat of The Maw. This game is magical and challenges players to reconnect with their childhood, blending nightmares and imagination beautifully.

For the full list of what will be available when the new year arrives:

  • Little Nightmares ($19.99 ERP): Available January 1 to 31
  • Dead Rising ($19.99 ERP): Available January 16 to February 15
  • The King of Fighters XIII ($29.99 ERP): Available January 1 to 15
  • Breakdown ($9.99 ERP): Available January 16 to 31

Just like with the PlayStation Plus lineup with PS Plus, an active Xbox Live membership is required to claim the latest free games. The best part? They are free, so if you don't like them simply uninstall and nothing in your world changes dramatically other than a few lost moments. It's as simple as that. For once, it's not that deep.
