How Do I Get the Enemy Skill Materia?

The Enemy Skill materia can be acquired from Chadley, an NPC you first encounter in Chapter 3 - Home Sweet Slum and see in later chapters as well. Chadley asks you to collect Battle Intel in exchange for new materia he’ll sell to you, with the first usually being at an incredibly reduced price. This includes the Enemy Skill materia which can only be obtained after you complete the “Monster Bio Pt. 4” Battle Intel report, which requires you to assess 30 different enemy types.

How Many Enemy Skills Are There in FF7 Remake?

FF7 Remake has a total of four enemy skills:

• Algid Aura - Surrounds the player with an aura that deals ice damage to nearby enemies.
• Bad Breath - Afflicts enemies with a potpourri of status ailments that include sleep, poison, and silence.
• Self Destruct - Causes an explosion that deals large area-of-effect (AEO) damage but at the cost of knocking out the user.
• Spirit Siphon - Surrounds the player with an AOE aura that heals them by draining HP from nearby enemies.

You can learn the Algid Aura enemy skill by getting hit with Ice Aura from the Cerulean Drake. Cerulean Drake encounter locations:

• Just Flew in the Graveyard quest in Sector 7 Slums in Chapter 3
• Sector 7 Slums in Chapter 11
• Collapsed Sector 7 Plate in Chapter 15

How to Get Self Destruct in FF7 Remake

You can learn the Self Destruct enemy skill by getting hit by the abilities Self-Destruct from the Smogger or Apoptosis from the Bomb, Vaghidpolis, H0512-OPT, or Proto-Trypapolis. Smogger encounter locations:

• Sector 5 Slums in Chapter 8 and Chapter 14

Bomb encounter locations:

• Chocobo Sam’s A Dynamite Body side quest in Chapter 14
• Fat Chocobo boss fight in Chadley’s VR Simulator
• The Three-Person Team vs. Monsters of Legend fight in the Shinra Combat Simulator in Chapter 17 (Hard Mode)

Varghidpolis encounter locations:

• Sector 7 in Chapter 13
• Wymer’s Subterranean Menace side quest in Chapter 14

H0512-OPT encounter locations:

• In the Specimen H0512 Boss Fight in Chapter 16

Proto-Trypapolis encounter locations:

• Trypapolis Boss Fight during the Stablehand’s Chocobo Search side quest in Chapter 14, created by attacking the Trypapolis while doing its Dance attack

You can learn the Spirit Siphon enemy skill by getting hit by the Phantom's Energy Drain ability. Phantom encounter locations:

How to Get the Bad Breath in FF7 Remake

You can learn the Bad Breath enemy skill by getting hit by Bad Breath from the Marlboro. Marlboro encounter locations:

• The Three-Person Team vs. Monsters of Legend fight in the Shinra Combat Simulator in Chapter 17 (Hard Mode)
