Death Stranding is officially headed to PC on June 2 via both
Steam and the
Epic Games Store - and it'll have Half-Life crossover content. Kojima Productions and 505 Games
announced the news, revealing new features such as a photo mode, higher frame rate caps, and ultra-wide screen support. As for the Half-Life crossover, we can see it teased in the trailer below - Sam Porter Bridges gets a Valve logo-like ponytail, is wearing the tech-covered gloves we've seen from Half-Life: Alyx, and is seen styling a headcrab hat. Those might even be some Gordon Freeman glasses he's rocking, too. It's not clear just yet how you'll get it in game, however. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/03/02/death-stranding-pc-release-date-trailer"] Anyone who pre-orders Death Stranding on PC will get a Chiral Gold and Omnireflector cap, sunglasses, gold and silver speed skeleton, and gold and silver armor plate. However, all PC purchases will also get the following:
- Selections from ‘The Art of DEATH STRANDING’ digital art book (by Titan Books)
- Death Stranding Original Score Expanded Edition by Ludvig Forsell (including 10 unreleased tracks)
- Ludens mask sunglasses (chiral gold and omnireflector)
- Gold and silver power skeleton
- Gold and silver all-terrain skeleton
- Gold and silver armour plate (LV2)
The blog post that revealed the release date featured an image below showing all the bonuses.
Senior Brand Community Manager at 505 Games, Antonela Pounder, wrote in a blog post, "Let us take this opportunity to thank this incredible community for their support since we announced the PC edition of DEATH STRANDING last year. The response has been overwhelming and we’re super grateful for the support you’ve shown us across our social channels. Today is a super exciting day for the team and we hope you guys feel the same way too." For more information on Death Stranding, take a look at
what we thought in our review. We were half-expecting Kojima-related news this week, but not this particular story – last week, a member of the Kojima team
seemed to tease a Silent Hill game in a very strange way. Kojima himself is also about to
receive BAFTA's highest honour for his work in the industry. [poilib element="accentDivider"]
